Recently, I saw a field of red poppies, and there were those who were taller than others scattered throughout the field. As they emerged higher than the rest they were struck down, in order to standardize the field.

This reminded me of the carnival game where clowns pop up, and the guest is meant to hammer each clown down as it is lifted up.

My vision then turned to the Wall of Remembrance in Canberra, lined with red poppies, honouring past soldiers. I knew also that during times of battle or war, the contribution of every person was valuable.

I felt like the Lord was changing this narrative over His people, and instead of being those with their poppies being cut down, He was pinning poppies to their lapels in honour of who they are, and what they bring or contribute to others.

I feel like the Lord says those who may be experiencing the effects of intimidation, timidity or insecurity about aspects of their lives:

‘It’s your time to shine. I have prepared you for such a time as this. I am breaking off containments and false labels and releasing fresh courage for you to run against a troop and leap over a wall.

I am drawing you out into broad places, where you will grow, flourish and be a blessing to many.

I am enlarging you in areas where the boundary lines are falling for you in pleasant places.

It’s time to step up, step over and step out into all that I’ve prepared you for. Don’t look to the right or to the left, for I am guiding you with My eye upon you. I encourage you to not shrink back but embrace the fullness of My call upon your life.

You are most precious and valuable in this pivotal hour!’
